Day 6:
Women's. Bronze Medal Game, 09:30

K Sweden - USA 6-5
Sweden's Ingrid Meldahl who won the championship in 2006 and 2007 was content with this year's bronze finish.

After the game Melhahl said "Today was the first really good game we played. We were totally focussed. We were good on the ice with good speeds. The USA played better than the other day when we met them."

Men's. Bronze Medal Game, 09:30
J Australia - Switzerland 4-3 (EE)
In the Bronze medal games, curling history was made with Australia winning their first curling world championship medal.

"I'm speechless which is unusual for me!", said Australian Skip Hugh Millikin after the game, which was the third of the senior medal games to go into an extra end of play.

"The Swiss played very very well and it came down to the wire. It's the first medal for Australia in World Championship Curling!! Not bad, it took me twenty years, but it's not bad!"

Women's. Gold Medal Game, 09:30
G Canada - Switzerland 8-4 (EE)
Colleen Pinkney, skip of the Canadian senior women's team, was more reserved about their win against Renate Nedkoff's Swiss side.

"We felt a little nervous, I don't feel we curled our best game at all. I give the Swiss credit. They curled very well and put pressure on us all the time", said Pinkney after the game, which like the men's final, went to an extra end.

"They came out on fire and we did not and we were making a lot of half shots. I think we only felt confident when we forced them to take one in the eighth and went to an extra end."

Men's. Gold Medal Game, 09:30
H Canada - USA 3-4 (EE)
"I'm elated it's a fantastic feeling, after all that practise and all that work that we-ve done in the last couple of years and actually all the practise in my entire life", said Paul Pustovar, skip of the American senior men's team on winning the final.

Pustovar has represented the USA at five world men's championships and at his first world senior's last year he took silver. The win in Russia is the second world senior championship title for the USA in the eight year history of the event. (USA won in 2002).
