Defending champions Switzerland, namely Toni Mueller and Irene Schori, have now won 14 games in a row in World Mixed Doubles competition, after beating Slovakia 7-5 to climb to 5-0 at the Olympic Ice Stadium in Cortina.
Last year in Vierumaki, Finland, the Swiss roared to an undefeated 9-0 won/loss record in winning the inaugural World Mixed Doubles title. However, the matches seem to be getting more difficult.

Spanish curling took another step forward as Alberto Vez and Estrella Labrador came from behind to defeat Sweden 11-9 on day two of the 2009 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship.
"It's fantastic," enthused Vez, who is making his international debut for Spain.
"Now there is no pressure," said Labrador, his wife, who debuted for Spain at December's Le Gruyere European Championships in Sweden.
"Last year, the Spanish team wins one game in the Mixed Doubles," Labrador continued. "Now we have a win. Maybe soon, two wins? Maybe more will come?"
